This started a long way back and in 2009 and it cost the then Director of Education in the region, Josia Udjombala, his post as a Director of the region. This was done by transferring him to Khomas region under the pretext that he was transferred to ‘where his services are badly needed’.
It came to light that this was not the real reason. A certain Member of Parliament ‘mistakenly’ revealed this when he visited Mwadikange Kaulinge Secondary School one day. He wanted to see the principal urgently while the principal had a discussion with an elderly parent in his office and informed the secretary to tell the MP to hang on a few minutes as he was about to round up their discussions with that elder. When the MP entered the office of the principal he fumed to the principal citing that he was behaving in the same way as Udjombala whom ‘they’ ousted out of the region to pave way for better directorship.
The same sentiments were echoed by a mob of drinkers and so called ‘Swapo heavyweights’ at a certain Mr. Life Bar in Ondangwa (Oluno). These drinkers unknowingly or perhaps out of ignorance disclosed ‘their’ plan to oust everybody in Ohangwena Directorate who does not conform to what Swapo is saying.
They further said that they had succeeded in ousting Udjombala and the following people could be the two ‘troublesome’ Inspectors for Ondobe and Ohakafiya. A mysterious letter containing a list of schools where the two troublesome inspectors allegedly appointed RDP members as principals was revealed. Unfortunately in the list only one school belonged to those circuits. They said all this in the presence of one staff member of Ohangwena Education Directorate.
The two recent mysterious letters, especially the one on the award ceremony, have much in common with the letter which appeared in the local newspaper thanking the Namibian President for the construction of the Erundu-Okongo road after the Governor spearheaded demonstration to say thank you to the Swapo-led government for the road.
The tone and common language errors in those letters were similar and one could conclude that they were written by the same author or the author was a co-author of the letter about the road. One interesting feature is that the same ‘troublesome’ inspectors who were mentioned in the 2009 saga were again mentioned in one of these mysterious letters.
Another coincidence worth mentioning is an allergy of the author to the speech at the Regional award ceremony scheduled for Haimbili Haufiku SS to be delivered by certain rightful Namibians who the author declared unfit to address the gathering because they allegedly belong to the RDP party. This allergy was equally shown by the Regional Governor at the re-naming of Okauva CS when he expressed his discontent with some people being offered chances to visit or address people without him being informed.
One could conclude that the highest office in the Ohangwena Region might have given the thumbs-up to this unconstitutionality or else such letters may emanate from someone there.
