It's good to preserve what is unique in a town so that all Namibian
towns don't look alike with exactly the same street names wherever
you go.
Those of us born, bred, raised and cultured in Swakopmund feel
proud when people here at Wits University acknowledge the Deutsche
Gemutlicheit it offers.
However, I would suggest that development be extented to Mondesa
as well.
To this day old people have to walk to Vineta or town to fetch
mail and and access ATMs.
Surely these facilities could be brought closer for convenience?
Walvis Bay has ATMs and post offices everywhere.
We should not develop the town while turning Mondesa into a
slum.
A holistic approach to development is the new worldwide
approach and exclusive development belongs to the archives of
prehistoric times.
A piece of advice: hire a consultant to draw up a strategic plan
for Mondesa drawing inspiration from the cultural diversity
of her people and tourism potential it has.
When this is done, market these unique features to the tourism
industry.
I am sure tourists want to experience the warm and intriguing
African cultures.
