Take Care With Job Ads

ALLOW me to express myself in your daily newspaper.

On 21 May 2004, page B6, there was an international job

advertisement in The Namibian newspaper stating Genesis

Corporarion, Now recruiting.

International English Teaching Appointments, teach English in

Japan and Korea.

Send Resume/CV to: gptzy@webmail.co.za I would like to warn the

public not to apply or reply to this job advertisement, as they are

very dangerous and risky.

I was almost a victim of this notorious scam, I applied the

advertised position and they sent me a confirmation letter with

exorbitant salary and benefits and I was informed that they need

teachers to commence immediately in Japan.

From the letter of confirmation I was referred to contact the

e-mail address maritime@japan.com for applying for Occupational

Maritime Environmental, Health and Safety at Sea Certification

(OMEHSS Certification), which apparently if you do not have one

then you can't occupy the advertised job and you have to pay

U$130.00 to acquire this certificate, and sit for an online

examination for four modules and if you pass the exam then they

will arrange for me to go and work in Japan with my family.

I then contacted my legal adviser and he went through these

letters and found out that there is no truth in all the

correspondence, all the contact details, such as telephone and

faxes does not exist, the e-mail address is South African

based.

I was asked to deposit U$130.00 in an individual bank account at

ABSA Bank, and the individual bears a Nigerian surname which

clearly reveals that this is a mere scam to get money from

people.

This scammmers are known as 419 in Nigeria.

Briefly, as a concerned citizen I would like to caution my

fellow countrymen and women not to apply for jobs that do not have

adequate addresses such as telephone and fax numbers as well as

postal addresses.

E-mail addresses cannot be trusted as scammers are prior

suspects of using e-mail address to commit fraud.

If you would like to know more about scam letters and how to

avoid becoming a scam victim, you can check in at www.Google.com.na

and search Nigeria there is a site called: Nigeria: The 419

Coalition website.
