What good is training without jobs?

I would like to express my point of view concerning the scarcity of jobs in Namibia today.

As we all know, education is the key to a better future but there

are many people who have completed their studies and they are

filling the streets trying to find employment, including myself.

I completed my diploma in secretarial studies and what worries

me is that every time I apply for a position, I am asked if I have

any experience.

And they want something like three to five years of

experience.

I request the Government to do something about this situation

because more and more people are busy finishing their tertiary

education and we all need an income.

Otherwise your life is hell and you might end up on the streets,

become a criminal, start doing drugs or become a victim of HIV/Aids

- and this is especially so amongst our young people who will be

tomorrow's leaders.

Finally, I am asking the Government, companies, donors and

individuals to assist us in our projects to overcome this

problem.

You can contact us at: P O Box 1634, Ondangwa or Uushona

Immanuel on 065-248952.
