Inline hockey season reaches halfway mark by Staff Reporter
THE Inline Hockey fraternity yesterday braced themselves for the start of an bumper third annual league tournament at the DTS sports grounds.
With 81 scheduled games, the tournament promises to provide quality clashes, featuring players that competed at the recent North American Roller Hockey Championships (NARCh) in Canada and the FIRS Senior World Championships.
Papo wins final Cross Country Race by
Xavier Papo won the sixth and final Cross Country race in the Rock and Rut Mountain Bike series, which took place close to the Waldorf School in Avis on Saturday.
Papo won the Elite Men’s category over five laps in a time of 1 hour 41 minutes 23 seconds, to finish nearly three minutes ahead of Gerhard Mans, who came second in 1:44:21. Charl Fouche finished third in 1:46:51.
FEI World Jumping Challenge by Staff Reporter
THE Namibian Equestrian Federation (Namef) will host the FEI World Jumping Challenge between 24 and 26 August.Windhoek equestrian club Nubuamis Riding Club won the bid to present this prestigious event in 2013.

THE Otjomapenda Turf Club will host a horse racing event at Farm Dankbaar on Saturday, with about 46 horses spanning nine races.
The main race over 2200m will feature favourite ILL Tanga, owned by Alfred Tjihero and Bernard Kaanjuka, competing against Camden Queen and Peanut, owned by the Christians-Freygang stable from Rehoboth.

Competing in the 200m Backstroke, Oberholzer broke her own Namibian 13/14 year and Open record of 2:19,76 by more than five seconds with a time of 2:14,52.
