HELPING OUT TOO Illegal settlers from the Havana Informal Settlement found themselves moving to new plots over the weekend. According to residents of Havana No. 2, erven were allocated to them by the City of Windhoek and they were told to relocate. “We have been praying to be given land for a long time. It took the municipality years to give us what we have always wanted. Today we can say that we now have a place to stay,” said one of the residents. Although the land has not yet been serviced, they are hoping that the municipality will soon start bringing in electricity and other services to the area.
