How am I expected to follow my dreams?
Dreams
Why are they filling my head with thoughts of debts and study fees? I who do not bear any leaves or produce paper like a tree. You talk about education but yet you cannot pay for our education. Challenging us to build a nation. But still we search rubbish dumps and trash cans for nutrition.
Persuade us to vote, for those corrupted by oversized houses and million dollar vehicles. Still you dare to speak about the future generation.
Well I dare you Mr Chancellor, Dean, Prime Minister, Mr President: Look at my student fees and tell me how my single parent could afford that when she struggles to put food on the table and still pay her taxes.
This while you are in your fancy house, stuffing your face. Are you trying to find a solution to our third world problems? It seems that you are blinded by your oversized belly. Unable to see what we face in reality. Blinding our people with your speeches. Repeating the same story about your liberation struggle. Yet those who fought still remain hungry.
Could you blame me as a student for being angry. When thoughts of finances cloud my sanity. So I shall express my right, my freedom of speech and speak for those who are speechless. Those threatened as they try to express their voices. The time is now. It is time for change.
