SKW bags hat trick of Khomas titles

SPORT Klub Windhoek won three titles as the Khomas youth leagues came to a grand conclusion at the NFA Technical Centre in Windhoek on Saturday afternoon. SKW won the Under 11, 15 and 17 titles during on the final day of action that saw many talented youngsters showing promise for the future.
The action kicked off with an Under-13 final between Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW) against Khomasdal Football Association (KFA) and it was the latter that scored five goals en route to a 5-1 victory.
Zidian van Wyk scored a brace, with teammates Tulela Shipanga, Godwin Eiseb and Von Zaylen Gowaseb also getting in on the goals. For SKW Lytton Goliath got their face-saver goal.
The SKW U-15 team then took to the pitch to reclaim some glory for their club as they defeated SOS United 3-0.
After a goalless first half, Tjituu Tjiuoro came off the bench to open the scoring for SKW, with another substitute George Hummel scoring the second before the enterprising David Kasese capped his man of the match performance with a well taken individual goal.
In the U-17 league title match, Tura Magic faced SKW and the goals came in the second half after a fairly contested first 35 minutes.
Cornelius Uyepa gave Magic the lead midway through the second half soon after his goalkeeper Katjinaani Katjinaani saved a penalty by SKW’s Michael Tjizu.
But SKW drew level through speedy left winger Quinton Van Wyk’s a well crafted goal to send the match into a penalty shot-out.
SKW won the shoot-out 3-1 with their goalkeeper Marko Zirzow keeping Magic out twice, while Katjinaani managed a solitary save. Van Wyk buried the decisive penalty to give SKW the honours in the league.
The SKW Stadium hosted the Under-nine league title encounter in which Swallows A trounced DTS A 11-0. Junior Lambert scored five goals, with Player of the League Mendy !Gonteb scoring a hat-trick, Edwardo !Ameb got a brace and DTS A added an own goal.
In the U-11 league, SKW A were the league winner with Ramblers taking second place and Khomasdal Football Academy (KFA) in third place.
In the U-19 final match, Invincible outclassed Challengers 5-0 to claim the title.
Brave Warriors coach Ricardo Mannetti and his assistant Ronnie Kanelelo watched all the final games and they presented the prizes to the winning teams.
The prizes included a trophy, 30 gold medals, seven balls and a set of markers for the winner; 30 silver medals, five balls for the losing finalist; while the third-place finisher received 30 bronze medals and three balls.
