SMS Of The Day * THIS nation is in dire need of a massive conference on housing. When we experienced a crisis in the education sector a crisis-control brain-storming conference was organised which resulted in the best deal ever for the Namibian child, nam
Food For Thought * BOURGEOISIE has become a daily occupation if not the order of the day of the upper-echelons, President Hifikepunye Pohamba we urge you to revisit this unpatriotic geocentricism among your staff and the well-connected, for everybody to r
Bouquets And Brickbats * COMMISSIONER of Prisons, can you please explain the strategies you use to appoint officers to certain positions? It is my observation that you are being fed with wrong information then you just promote individuals without making p
SMS Of The Day * I THINK Paulus ‘The Rock’ Ambunda lost his belt because of this promoter and trainer. How can a world champion still be training at the Katutura Youth Complex where there is not enough equipment. I think they must follow the example of Ha
Food For Thought * NAMIBIA Dairies are unable to match low prices of imported milk and this ultimately means the consumer will have to pay more for local milk. Look at the prices of the local chicken. All these profits are going in the pockets of a few in
Bouquets And Brickbats * I AM pleased to hear that Cabinet has responded positively to the proposal of Namibia Dairies to support the industry. The restrictions which support the industry by reducing competition to ensure the survival of the industry is a
SMS Of The Day * CEO’s golden handshakes. Somewhere on our statute books there must be a provision that if a board of directors suspends/dismisses a CEO without due regard to legal provision (substantive/procedural law) such board must carry the costs for
Food For Thought * JACKY Asheeke was so right with her last column- why are the fathers of the dead children not being prosecuted? (Reference to the children who died in shack fires last week) Our justice system still protects men over women. In this cont
Bouquets And Brickbats * ALEXACTUS Kaure, your column in Friday’s newspaper opened my eyes. One hardly finds impartial case study analysers in Namibia. Let’s not destroy the Polytechnic’s strong foundation (Tjivikua) as yet. At least wait until the transf
SMS Of The Day * WHY doesn’t NBC listen when they are criticised? The little red chairs on Good Morning Namibia have done their part and are dirty especially at the arm rests. Please listen for once. You interview professionals and internationals on those
Food For Thought * MINISTRY of Education, in order to address the shortages of teachers at primary schools why don’t you consider employing us who hold a diploma in lifelong learning and community education for teaching posts? We also did health education
Bouquets And Brickbats * MY fellow Namibians, I am not a Swapo member but a third term for President Hifikepuye Pohamba will be a step closer towards attainment of Vision 2030. Believe me His Excellency has made crucial bold decisions, and I don’t regret

Mild earthquake shakes Windhoek

These are signs, repent. - Prince

things are changing and evolution is taking place in plate tectonics.that was just a warning,we Namibians must alredy start educating people and telling them what to do in cases as such. Are we waiting for the worst to happen so that we can react? - beata

There are no other names in Kavango that could be named after one of the regions sugested. Why Kavango east and Kavango west. - Mk

Let Namibia not be too religoious with earth tremers. They are natural occurances which can be catastrophic though. Scientific minds as that of J. H. Shikongo and "salvation," who reason along "geological plate movements" would be helpful to our society for any scientific precautious measures. Fear of death should not lead us to fanaticism. - Longeni

Oh no, you won't be afraid of any terror or earthquake if you accept Jesus as your Savior and obey God's commandment and live a life that pleases God, though you are not perfect...very simple and finish - Sydney Collins Naobeb

Repent all, for the Kingdom of heaven is ahead. Sort out your relationship with Jesus Christ now.

we must pray god!and watch out its about to an end - Emilia Nampala

does this mean there is a possibility that namibia might face natural disaster of this kind in the future! just worried. - g.haipinge

I was in bed, facing up. I ruled out a truck was passing by for it sounded like a great thunder. There was a little motion to which I was not sure whether I was imagining that it happened - lipuleni

The same types of incidents have happened in the past around that side of Rocky Crest, Pionioerspark, Cimbebasia and Klein Kuppe (South and South-West of Windhoek). It's now time for Geologists to investigate this as it seems these seismic waves will be more frequently in the near future. The same also happened at Omuthiya some time ago. Let's not keep our minds that plate boundaries are further away, it may be the possibility another tectonic plate boundary is about to be formed through Namibia. I guess we have experts to handle this issue. I thank you!! - Vaino

I think we are a bit safe in Namibia since we do not have any plate boundary closer to us. - J. H. Shikongo

Funny how 'god' or 'Armageddon' is always invoked at times of ill-informed panic fuelled by [scientific] ignorance. When a meteorite glided and alighted across the Russian horizon, scientist rushed to the side to collect its fragments but here in Namibia where a much smaller meteorite fell in a farmer field, I had to listen to a pastor telling mourners at a funeral that god was sending us final warning signs about the eminent end of the world! What a load of bull!! - JRK

The world became at the end; be wise people $ pray to the Lord - ndilimeke

I shoudnt be somethng so weird, our country has a history of geological plate movement. Thank God was nt extreme - salvation

relax the fuck down we ain't fuckin dien - paxson

GOD'S work just accept as it is ! - selmah

I think The world is coming to an end. - Election Elishi

Is this not another Prophet Elizabeth-Like scenario - Edward
