SMS Of The Day * I THINK Paulus ‘The Rock’ Ambunda lost his belt because of this promoter and trainer. How can a world champion still be training at the Katutura Youth Complex where there is not enough equipment. I think they must follow the example of Ha
Food For Thought * NAMIBIA Dairies are unable to match low prices of imported milk and this ultimately means the consumer will have to pay more for local milk. Look at the prices of the local chicken. All these profits are going in the pockets of a few in

SMS Of The Day * CEO’s golden handshakes. Somewhere on our statute books there must be a provision that if a board of directors suspends/dismisses a CEO without due regard to legal provision (substantive/procedural law) such board must carry the costs for

Bouquets And Brickbats * ALEXACTUS Kaure, your column in Friday’s newspaper opened my eyes. One hardly finds impartial case study analysers in Namibia. Let’s not destroy the Polytechnic’s strong foundation (Tjivikua) as yet. At least wait until the transf

The Loss of a Star
A star was born but now it’s gone. The memories stay but you can’t let go. The time is now and now only. What used to make your day has now turned into a nightmare.

The changes in a person were once wonderful until you find out their true colours. The first question you will ask yourself is what have I done wrong. But instead you should realise that it was not you but them.

I once knew a wonderful, sophisticated person but a few months later I realised I was friends with the enemy. The enemy as I called it was the person who used to do the wrong things like being insulting and rude. Two of the characteristics I hate are in the enemy. The enemy, oh the enemy... With my shyness I kept it to myself.

The first star we can lose is a friend. A friend is there for two main reasons. To influence you or to be influenced by you. The characteristics within that friend you choose are based on your instincts. You don’t want to have a friend that tells you what to and what not to do. It is your full responsibility to do that by yourself.

The second star we can lose is a close relative. The loss of someone close is very devastating, especially if you were very close to them. In your mind you will ask yourself what have I done to deserve this and why me. There is nothing we can do to change destiny. Destiny writes itself. You can visit the fake sangomas and see what they will say. I know for a fact that they will tell you rubbish and you will eventually believe in them and you will put your life and trust in danger. The mortal life is gone but the immortal life stays. Your close relative will always be with you. You cannot hear nor can you see them but they are next to you.

The last star you can lose is faith. Some humans are very impatient. They want things to be done or delivered or paid now and now only. They don’t have the patience to wait. An example: You are a Christian. Most Christians only turn to God when they are in danger. They pray and pray and keep on praying until they have had enough. They will lose faith. God takes His time to answer your prayers because in the world there are other people who need God’s assistance now more than you do. He knows when you need assistance. He will assist you but you must never give up.

The star that is most important is you. You are a star. You shine like a diamond but your star will lose its shine, its glow and its wonder if you lose yourself. The star in you can be found when it’s lost but it cannot be replaced with another star. You keep your star and your star is your personality. The wonders of a person cannot be described as worthless but as precious.
