Teenagers Today
Nowadays we see young girls dressing inappropriately and young boys doing all the bad things anyone could ever imagine. Each and every day I ask myself what went wrong.
These days, you will find a 14-year-old boy who either abuses alcohol or is addicted to smoking, and a girl of only 15 or 16 exposing her body like she works at a night club. It seems that the things our ancestors taught us have vanished into thin air.
I am not judging anyone but it seems like most teenagers today are lost souls and they don’t know what they want, they only do what’s fun or what will please their friends, instead of what’s right. And before they know it, they face major consequences.
I would just like to say that both guys and girls should have fun but it is of paramount importance that we set ourselves limits. We should know when to stop and learn how to say no sometimes.
Frans Kalumbu is 16 years old and is a Grade 11 pupil at Jan Jonker Afrikaner High School.
