Cancer booklet raises awareness

CANCER AWARENESS … Overall winner with most entries was Duinesig Combined School in Kuisebmond, Walvis Bay. Principal Hileni Lukas and teacher Lendle Du Plessis, along with FNB Lifestyle Consultant Lizette Williams are pictured with a group of pupils.

First National Bank (FNB) Namibia and the Cancer Association of Namibia (CAN) have announced the winners of a competition linked to a Cancer booklet, aimed at raising awareness among the youth in a fun, colourful and interesting way.

“The booklets were distributed in March to some schools in Windhoek and in areas where the CAN offices are well represented. The idea was that kids would read the booklet and then participate in a quick quiz on health and health related matters with an entry into a competition. The prizes included 2 x MP4 Players; 10 x N$200 Airtime Vouchers and the school with the most entries won N$2 000 towards a development programme. The school was Duinesig Combined School with an amazing 634 entries,” says Vicky Muranda, Communications Manager at FNB Namibia.

MP 4 went to Maigon Archer – WAP and Marion Tsei-tseis – Duinesig Combined School.
