Opuwo school soldiers on

The school has a programme that feeds more than 108 chil- dren, mostly those who walk long distances on an empty stomach.

Some teachers say the hostel has had no proper sanitation for the past 10 years.

Renovations for the toilets were done two years ago but the situation never improved. “We do not know whether the materials used are of cheaper quality or maybe it was the contractor who did not fix the pipes and the sewage system well,” said one of the teachers, Ebenezer Uandia.
