NMC Construction appoints new MD

NMC Construction Namibia, a member of the NMC Construction Group, has announced the appointment of Chris McMinn as Managing Director.
The Windhoek-based NMC Construction Namibia is a privately owned construction company with 30% local shareholding. Its operations span throughout Namibia and SADC and its services include a broad range of construction solutions to both the public and private sectors. The company was opened in 2010.
Leake Hangala, Executive Chairman of NMC said: “Within less than three years we have increased our turnover by 114% and currently our turnover for the financial year 2013/2014 stands at N$325 million. We have passed our formative stage and are aligning our management and resource capacity to our growth and consolidation strategy. Against this background, the Board of Directors for NMC Construction Namibia resolved to appoint Chris McMinn as Managing Director, with effect from 1 August. He is a highly experienced construction industry executive and we look forward to harnessing his experience, knowledge and strong leadership in the next phase of our development.”
“I am very excited to be part of the NMC Construction Namibia family and look forward to taking on this newly created role. In addition to winning new work and ensuring operational efficiency, my focus will be to sustain the growth we have achieved within the first three years whilst building on our reputation of building trust through quality and timeous delivery,” added McMinn.
