Warriors lose in Mozambique
Staff Reporter
THE Brave Warriors lost 0-3 against Mozambique in Maputo yesterday afternoon and now have a daunting task to overturn the score in the return leg in their bid to qualify for the 2014 CAF African Nations Championships to be held in South Africa.
The Brave Warriors were trailing 1-0 at halftime following a penalty awarded to Mozambique after African Stars defender Chris Katjiukua was adjudged to have fouled a Mozambican player in the box. Mozambique scored the second goal midway through the second half with a well taken header while a third goal came after a well executed counter-attack, to make the final score 3-0.
The Namibian team will arrive back in Windhoek today, while preparations for the second leg will start tomorrow morning at the Sam Nujoma Stadium at 10h00. The second leg will be played on Saturday, 3 August, at the Sam Nujoma Stadium, starting at 17h00.
