Court clerks granted bail of N$10 000
Clemans Miyanicwe
TWO clerks at the Khorixas Magistrate’s Court were yesterday granted bail of N$10 000 each after they were arrested for forgery, fraud, uttering and theft.
The bail condition for Joyce Kharases (28) and Willem Oarum (28) entails that they must not enter the premises of the magistrate court and also not come near the cashier’s office.
Kharases and Oarum are accused of allegedly stealing N$22 000. Kharases is further charged with uttering (presenting forge documents as real).
Khorixas magistrate Israel Hauwanga postponed the case to 23 September for further police investigations and for the two to obtain legal representation.
Oarum indicated that he will get a private lawyer while Kharases opted to represent herself.
The pair were arrested after an audit conducted by the Ministry of Justice’s head office found some discrepancies last week Tuesday and Wednesday.
