Jazz meets Blues as Sean K and Percival team up tonight
If you are a fan of Jazz and Blues with a little bit of local flavour, get down to the Warehouse Theatre this evening, where Sean K and Percival Rindquest will take audiences on a journey through the genres, showcasing how they have evolved over the last hundred years.
Joining them on stage is Spoken Word alumni, Playshis the Poet and Queen of the Free Your Mind stage, Heloiuse Garaseb (aka Weezil).
Sean K first came to prominence in 2009 with various performances and with the release of his debut single, ‘Smiling’. Sean is a delight for the senses and an immediate crowd favourite, taking his inspiration from Funk, Jazz, Afro-beat and Gospel. His offerings are rich, complex and varied, but always on the cutting-edge.
No stranger to the music scene, Percival Rindquest, at the tender ages of 12, won the gold medal for achieving the highest overall score in the Namibian National Competition for Performing Arts, as well as medals and scrolls in South Africa. Percival’s musical influences stem from Jazz, and Rhythm and Blues, which is evident in the smooth melodic tone of his voice.
Both these artists have shared the stage with some of Namibia’s best known musicians – Lize Ehlers, Shishani and Black Vulcanite.
They have also both graced various stages such as the Old Mutual Jazz Encounter, Song Night, Spoken Word and FNCC’s Acoustic Fridays.
Tickets are available at the Warehouse Theatre for N$80 in advance and N$100 at the door. Show starts at 20h00.
