The event was graced by the presence of Michael Mwinga, special advisor to the Governor of Oshana Region, NFA Oshana Region Chairman Frans Mbidi and CEO of Nasria Ndjoura Tjozongoro who all officiated during the awards ceremony.
In his address, read on his behalf by Mwinga, the Oshana Region Governor Clemence Kashuupulwa said the competition aims to avail football opportunities to young players in the region.
“Those of you in the business of sport are indebted to Nasria for the support they decided to avail to football in Namibia, but above all you should be grateful that they are assisting the NFA in the development of football players who can at one stage or another are part of the country’s pride which is our Brave Warriors,” said Kashuupulwa.
“I am informed that the theme for the competition is ‘Blow the whistle on unrest & political disturbances in the north of Namibia’.
Let me call upon all of you and the public out there to live by this theme and alert the relevant authorities about any disturbances and violence about to take place in our region. It is the right thing to do,” he added.
