Who is your local hero?

HERO … Paralympic gold medalist, Johanna Benson is an example of a local hero.
Heroes’ Day in Namibia is recognised by the United Nations and is elebrated annually on 26 August, the day commemorates the Namibian War of Independence which began on 26 August 1966 at Omugulugwombashe.
Join Lifeline/Childline Namibia and The Namibian YouthPaper as we honour people who change and save lives in our communities.

If you are under the age of 18, submit an essay on who your local heroes are, highlighting why you consider this person to be a hero, as well on the impact they have made either in your, or other’s lives.

The aim is to celebrate local living heroes and find good role models that youngsters can look up to.

Essays can be sent to The Namibian YouthPaper, 42 John Meinert Street, Windhoek, P O Box 20783, Windhoek or youthpaper@namibian.com.na. Essays can also be sent to Lifeline/Childline offices at 45 Bismarck Street, Windhoek West and at Star for Life offices at 10 Newton Street in Windhoek.

Closing date for submissions is Wednesday, 21 August.
