DHL sees Namibia as a strategic hub

LEADING international express and logistics company, DHL Express, will continue its expansion and investment strategy across Sub-Saharan Africa, and considers Namibia as a key market within this strategy.
Charles Brewer, Managing Director of DHL Express Sub-Saharan Africa, was in the country to meet with key stakeholders, customers, employees and the media.
“Despite the current global economic uncertainty, DHL expects the African region to deliver” comments Brewer. “As we see the continent ‘surge’ as a result of sector investment, increased consumer spending and economic activity, the future is still bright for the continent.”
“Namibia is one of our fastest growing markets and, with a GDP growth rate of over four percent presents a major opportunity. The opportunity is for us is to expand our footprint within the country and service semi-urban and rural areas so that anyone can access our network, and the over 220 countries and destinations that we serve,” he said in Windhoek on Thursday.
Outside of the expansion of its retail footprint, Brewer’s other priority is around people development and employee engagement. “People are at the core of our business,” commented Deon Landman, the Country Manager for Namibia.
