Unbeaten bantamweight Tomoki 'Mexicanito' Kameda (28-0, 18 KOs) scored a twelve round unanimous decision over previously undefeated defending WBO bantamweight champion Paulus Ambunda (20-1, 10 KOs).
Unbeaten bantamweight Tomoki 'Mexicanito' Kameda (28-0, 18 KOs) scored a twelve round unanimous decision over previously undefeated defending WBO bantamweight champion Paulus Ambunda (20-1, 10 KOs).
Tomoki becomes the third Kameda brother to win a world title on Thursday night at the Cebu City Waterfront Hotel & Casino in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City, Philippines. The quicker Kameda outboxed Ambunda from long range and mostly avoided toe-to-toe exchanges en route to a 118-110, 116-112, 117-111 verdict.
Tomoki joins brothers Koki and Daiki in the world title belt club. This is the first time three brothers have won major world championship belts. Koki currently holds the WBA bantamweight title. Daiki formerly held the WBA flyweight title and will meet Rodrigo Guerrero for the vacant IBF super flyweight title on 3 September in Japan. If Daiki wins that fight, all three brothers would be active world champions.
