Cabaret, Choirs and Masks
Choir music and cabaret will share a stage next Saturday, 10 August at 10h00 when three Windhoek choirs and Niël Rademan from South Africa will take to the stage at Windhoek High School.

Cota Youth Choir, Cota Children’s Chamber Choir and Femme Vocale will perform during the Cota Youth Choir’s Annual Ladies’ Tea, while Niël Rademan will treat you to cabaret, chansons and folk music on the piano.

The programme of the choirs will speak to all music lovers and music from Africa, Europe, America and Australia will be performed.

Rademan is a respected theatre artist in South Africa and is known for his cabaret-style performances. He has performed, as a singer and pianist, with the biggest names in South Africa, along with performances in England, France and the Netherlands. In London’s West End, he performed in front of Sir Andrew Lloyd-Webber, Sir Alan Rickman, Sir Richard Attenborough, Helena Bonham Carter, Dame Judi Dench, Sir Thomas Allen, Sir Anthony Sher and Sir Simon Rattle.

He often performs at gala events in South Africa, including for Thabo Mbeki, Desmond Tutu, Helen Zille, Patricia de Lille, Koos Bekker and Ton Vosloo.

He released a highly successful CD, ‘Fisantekraal’. In 2009 he released a Christmas CD, ‘Christmas isn’t Christmas ‘till it happens in your Heart’. His piano CD, ‘Rivers of Joy’, released in 2012 is nominated for a Tempo, as well as a Ghoema Award in South Africa.

This year, Niël released his CD with original music, ‘Ver van Hier’ (Far from here).He was also nominated as Best Guest Presenter for Kyknet’s ‘Fiesta’.
