THE Khomas Regional Council Hall is expected to attract a record number of people when the first ever Donkey Meat and Wine Pairing festival will be hosted by Convivial Events and Catering company.
Donkey meat lovers will be treated to a variety of donkey meat recipes, dubbed as ‘//ib Ge’ by the organisers while a variety of wine will also be on offer.

“We are looking forward to this historic event and I am sure that those in attendance will leave the venue satisfied. We have managed to invite some of the best donkey meat cooks in the country and I can assure you that this will be a feast like no other,” promised Tao !Noarises, one of the organisers and co-owner of Convivial Events and Entertainment.

A beaming Mpule Sezuni, another partner of Convivial, could hardly contain her excitement about tonight’s event.

“The response from the public was tremendous and we have sold quite a good number of tickets,” she said. “We are looking forward to giving our customers a memorable evening. We have a few surprises like never seen before recipes and people will definitely love the dishes.”

The organisers pointed out that people who are not too familiar with donkey meat should not worry because there will also be other meat like lamb, chicken and fish available.

“There will be two different types of donkey meat and the patrons will have the opportunity to test over seven recipes of the meat, with different types of wine that will match each recipe,” explained Tao, adding that a few tickets will also be on sale today for those who don’t want to be left out of the festivities.

The doors will be open at 18h00 with the event scheduled to start at 19h00 and the dress code is smart casual. Tickets cost N$100 per person.
