THE Katutura Central Expo, which caters for small businesses and farmers kicked off yesterday with the theme “Unity in Diversity”. The Expo will end on 4 August.

The main objective of the expo is to penetrate new markets and introduce new products and services for the small business and farmers. The expo started in 2011 and it is an initiative of the Katutura Central Constituency with the support of Katutura residents.

The Councillor of the Katutura Central Constituency, Ambrosius Kandjii said this year’s Expo is expected to be bigger and better. “Due to the ongoing commitment, the expo has became an annual event. This year, the Expo has grown by the number of people and activities lined up. The activities include an SME expo, an agricultural show of various livestock breeds. There will be traditional and cultural performances by different entertainment groups and religious and faith based activities by different institutions within Katutura,” Kandjii said.

He said the Expo aims to serve as a “catalyst for re-engineering” of business activities in Katutura.

“One aspect that defines this event is culture, Katutura is known for its various ethnic groups who have various cultures.
