A 16-year-old boy at Uuwandi Wewu village at Tsandi was arrested on Saturday after allegedly sodomising a three-year-old boy.
A police spokesperson, Inspector, Stephan Nuuyi, confirmed yesterday that the suspect, who is a relative of the victim, went to the complainant’s house for the weekend. They were alone in a room and the suspect allegedly abused the victim. The boy allegedly screamed to alert his grandmother who was sleeping under a tree outside the house.
When the grandmother woke up, the young victim narrated what happened and he was immediately taken to the Tsandi District Hospital where a doctor confirmed that the boy had been abused, Nuuyi said.
The suspect was arrested and is due to appear in the Okahao District Court today.
