Northern Stream grateful for bailout

NORTHERN Stream First Division’s chairperson Mpasi Haingura says the league is indebted to the sponsors who rescued its 2012/13 campaign.

The NSFD, which is primarily sponsored by MTC and the Namibia Football Association, endured another testing season after grinding to a halt twice due to insufficient funds and delaying the conclusion of its programme.

This forced the League to seek emergency supplementary finances towards the end of the season, with Hollard Life Namibia’s N$25 000 the most significant contribution, ensuring that its operational expenses, specifically the cost of match officials for the final round of matches on 29 June were covered.

“Without this assistance the league could not have been concluded and we are hopeful that this was the beginning of a future relationship in football.

We are not looking at the amount you offered but the impact it had on the outcome of the entire league,” said Haingura.

“Similarly, the NSFD Exco also extends its special thanks to John Paul Dos Santos, a young businessman in Rundu, for his continued support of the NSFD League and his generous understanding of football needs as he has assisted the league in many ways,” Haingura said.
