Robbers loot Jac-Mat

By: DENVER KISTING

ARMED robbers on Friday targeted Jac-Mat Super Centre in Windhoek, stealing looting electronic goods and cash to the value of N$400 000.

Chief Inspector Barry de Klerk yesterday said four men arrived at the shop at around 23h00 on Friday.
They claimed that they had booked a place at the flats behind Jac-Mat. After the security guard let them in, two pulled out firearms.
The security guard was locked up in an outside toilet, De Klerk said.
The men fled the scene with the shop’s safe, containing N$45 000 in cash, six flat-screen television sets, digital and video cameras.
He said the value of the stolen goods is estimated at N$400 000.
The thieves are suspected to have gained entry using a tyre lever.
The security guard was only freed at 07h00 the next morning when his colleague arrived to relieve him.
By yesterday, the four robbers were still at large.
The Police investigation continues.
