Two children drown in canal

TWO boys drowned in a canal near Oshitutuma village, Ogongo district, in the North on Sunday.

Immanuel Josef (5) and Joseph Pendukeni Josef (2) died near

Oshitutuma village in the Ogongo area.

At Onanbome village, in the Okalongo district, Natangwe Hafeni

Tonateni (7) drowned in a well where he went swimming on

Friday.

 

Their deaths follow the drowning of siblings Alfa Sinyemba (5)

and Polina Sinyemba (2) on Tuesday last week at the New Cowboy

Compound, Katima Mulilo.

 

The pair drowned in a deep hole filled with rainwater.

 

* The body of a 61-year-old woman was found at Okeendapa

village, Otamanzi district, in the Omusati Region, on Sunday.

 

She has been identified as Josephine Mulineyi Timoteus.

 

The cause of death has not yet been established.

 

On Saturday morning at Omaruru, the decomposed remains of a man

identified as Jacob Nehemia were found near the Hakahana squatter

camp.

 

Nehemia is believed to have been an epileptic.

 

No foul play is suspected.

 

* Three men escaped from the Oshivelo Police holding cells on

New Year's Day.

 

The trio - Nekongo Nashonga, Ndafonghoshi Shivute and Tuaameni

Paulus -broke down the cell door.

 

Shivute and Paulus were being held on stock theft charges, while

Nashongo is wanted for armed robbery.
