Damp days ahead, says bureau

By: ABSALOM SHIGWEDHA

WITH steady rain blanketing the capital for most of yesterday afternoon, the prospects for more rainfall over the next three days look good, weather forecaster Odilo Kgobetdsi told The Namibian yesterday.

Kbetsi said that from today until Wednesday much of central and

southern Namibia would receive good showers.

Areas in the central North predicted to receive heavy falls

include Otjiwarongo and Waterberg.

In the South, Kbetsi singled out Mariental, Khoixas and

Aroeb.

According to data measured at 08h00 yesterday, Dorado Park,

Windhoek received 10 millimetres in the previous 24 hours, while

Eros Airport measured 8,3 mm for the same period.

Rundu registered 1 mm, Katima Mulilo 0,9 mm, Ondangwa, 0,5 mm,

Gobabis 0,2 mm and Mariental 3 mm.

On Friday, good showers also fell at Oshakati and nearby

villages, giving hope to mahangu growers that further good falls

might be on the way.

Kgobetsi said heavy rainfall this week might cause flooding in

some areas.
