Little girl left

A two-year-old mentally retarded girl, found near Oshakati Airport two days before Christmas, was probably abandoned by her mother or other relatives, Police say.

NamPol spokesman, Warrant Officer Samuel Hamukonda, told The

Namibian that the girl, whose identity was unknown, had been found

in the Oshana riverbed near the Damara-Eemwandi informal settlement

by passers-by.

She is currently in Oshakati State Hospital where she remains

under constant care.
