Water rationing in the North
By: ABSALOM SHIGWEDHANAMWATER is experiencing problems with water-supply systems in the Oshana, Omusati, Oshikoto and Ohangwena regions, the water utility announced on Friday.
NamWater spokesman Johannes Shigwedha said these problems were disrupting water supply to Oshakati and all the areas north, east and south of Oshakati. Only the area west of the town is not affected.
“As a result of this, the flow of water has been reduced to the affected areas in order to allow engineers to resolve the problem,” said Shigwedha.
He said water would be rationed in the meantime.
The repairs are expected to continue until tomorrow and people in affected areas are urged to reduce their water usage as much as possible.
