By: Sheefeni Nikodemus

SATURDAY’S derby between Black Africa and Orlando Pirates was legendary local midfielder Lolo Goraseb’s final outing for the club.

“What a way to end a career. It was fantastic. We showed our class and character. I have confidence in the new players as the team and I know they can carry this team forward. I want to say thank you to Namibia. I appreciate the support from the fans.
“It’s not the end, I will still be around to share my knowledge and help develop young players for the club and our country,” he said.
BA coach Ali Akan said that the influential Goraseb would be sorely missed and that he was an exemplary individual. “The country must be proud of him. He is a great player but we must just accept that it is time for him (to retire).”
At the final whistle, jubilant BA players and supporters could not hide their delight as they joyously celebrated a crowning moment of a brilliant footballing career of one of Namibia’s’ finest, Lolo Goraseb.
