Stamps to rock for

By: STAFF REPORTER

NAMPOST has introduced three stamps and a miniature sheet depicting paintings and rock engravings of the Twyfelfontein world cultural site in the Kunene Region.

NamPost said issuing the miniature sheet of three stamps is a

fitting tribute to commemorate the first anniversary of the Unesco

World Heritage Status of Twyfelfontein (also known as Ui-//aes).

Manager for Philately at NamPost, Hanneli Maasdorp, said the

Twyfelfontein Heritage Stamp will be released today.

Maasdorp said the stamps were designed by a Phillipino, Marco

Ruben T Malto, who visited Namibia.

Twyfelfontein in the Kunene was included on Unesco's World

Heritage List on June 29 2007 in Christchurch, New Zealand, making

it a cultural site of world significance.
