Namfisa to host business forum in July

THE Economist Business Forum was officially launched yesterday by Boni Paulino, General Manager of investment institutions for Namfisa (Namibian Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority).

The forum is to take place on July 13 and 14 at the NamPower

Convention Centre in Windhoek.

It is being organised by the Namibia Economist, a local business

newspaper, with Namfisa as the main sponsor having donated N$80 000

to the two-day event.

 

The authority's mandates and obligations have been used as the

bases for drawing up the programme for the forum.

 

Topics to be covered include contractual savings covering

venture capital, regulation of the industry and others, generating

prosperity and national economic growth, consumer benefit and

protection, capital markets and the stock exchange as well as a

host of other relevant topics.

 

Daniel Steinmann, editor of the Economist said the planned

session has been designed to accommodate businesspeople and their

hectic schedules with topics covered in comprehensive 4 hour

blocks.

 

Attendance is free.

 

Apart from generating valuable discussion and raising awareness

on issues pertaining to the finance and investment industry in

Namibia, the forum will also help promote Namfisa.

agencies, medical aid schemes, pension funds, friendly societies,

investment managers, the stock exchange and stock brokers,

micro-lenders, unit trust managers and public accountants and

auditors.
