Five children burn to death in North

FIVE children burnt to death at Onayena village in the Oshikoto Region when the hut they were sleeping in caught fire on Friday night.

A Police spokesman, Constable Jonas Slogan Matheus, says four of

the children died in the hut while the fifth died later in

hospital.

Four children have been identified: Syme Selma Indongo Nkoshi

(17 months), Rebekka Magano Uusiku Nkoshi (5), Herman Shikesho (2)

and Martha Naftal (2).

 

The fifth child, who died in hospital, has not yet been

identified.

 

The children were staying with their grandmother, who was

attending a funeral when the fire broke out.
