I mean really. Look, I respect what he did for his people and the country. He lived in exile for many years, fighting for what he believed in, which is, to say the least, admirable. But lately, he's been talking about shooting the germans in the head, hitting the english with a hammer, fighting the "colonialists" to "end the struggle"...???? Even the most staunch SWAPO supporter should realise that something here is seriously amiss. He is giving the rest of the party a (really) bad name for not doing anything about this, i.e. showing us, the rest of the Namibians, that he is really still running the show, and that the rest of the members are his puppets to play with. He is becoming the laughing stock of the nation, which is kind of sad really. He fought his entire life to create a "free Namibia" for which he is (or was, rather) known for and now he's using the rest of his life to make a mockery of himself. I for one, can't take him seriously any more. When he has a speech somehwhere, I change the channel. He's living in the past and can't get past the fact that he is not in the limelight of things anymore, and when he is, he's there for all the wrong reasons. People are kind of fed up with his pathetic rantings. I'm sorry, but that is exactly what they are. So I ask you, supporter or not, can we as a Nation still take this man seriously when he is clearly living in the past, and thus jeopardising our future? |

Well Our so called Founding Father is just gettint old. Weather we take him seriously or not we cant change the fact that the gentelman is just old. He thinks he can blind us born-frees but this is our time to choose and not theirs. He thought He could get away from the media when he delivered his speech in Ongwediva in the Oshiwambo language but what he didn't know was that most reporters speak Oshiwambo. Man, was this not the guy who asked us to reconcile a few years back? |

My view for the Founding Father differ a bit I think, Who comes up with this tittles and what is the meaning behind. Yes he contributed toward the independence of this country but Namibia does not have a unique history from other African countries. What did He found? Swapo , Namibia or what exactly did he found. My problem is with this leaders who goes to the poor people and really make people so negative and turn them into criminals. They preach of things that they themselves will not even do in their dreams. We as Namibians have created our monsters and now we just have to feed them and live with them. On your question whether to take him serious, Well I'll say do that only at the rally but do not take any of such jokes home. |

Are you serious? the fact that he is still allowed to speak with people is wrong! the fact, as you say, he is too old is the very reason why he should not be addressing people at rallies at all. That man should be fined for his racial statements and not ignored. If you think it is normal to have fear and not disagree with his statements you are sadly two faced and have the mental capacity of that of a donkey. Get real, what I don’t understand is why do people still support his cause it is in anyway a hell of a conundrum. "you don't have to agree with him… only at rallies" this statement is a statement of fear. Why don't you grow a pair and vote for the better good of your children. As I noticed right after these hate speeches of hitting Germans over the head with hammers, less than a week after, three German farms were attacked. The best thing is that SWAPO wants to learn from BOBBY MUGABE on how his procedures worked in the case of land reformal? WTF is up with that? Honestly after 20 years and that is what this country results to, the country had 20 years to build up the funds to buy farms but rather that money got wasted on locomotives, embezzled for personal gain, and not to mention a 42 million office for a deranged man. Nee man it is laughable, the way I see it the way this country is running into Zimbabwe in the making, hope fully there is some of the people with the Balls to stand up and fight. To answer your question NO you should not take him serious nor should you SWAPO as well.

@ Gecko Actually it was the English he wanted (us) to hit with hammers....the germans were to be faced with "bullets in their heads"..... But I totally agree with you. |
