Noukie Noukie Topic creator registered since: 15.04.2009 Posts: 7	I got the topic from one of the letters to the Namibian dated 17.04.09.You see this topic is such a current issue at the moment. It is three days ago that the ANC won the elections in South Africa. I am sure you all have seen the excitement of the ANC supporters. The whole thrill was more about comrade JZ becoming President and the curiosity as to which of the many wives becomes first lady. And than my boyfriend walk in and was asking me “baby is it fine if I make you the first wife and than I make someone else the second wife? Yes, baby provided we all use a condom. Where did he pick the “cool idea” of having two wives? He was watching a lot of JZ profile on eNews and now he thinks it is cool to practice it as well. Yes, polygamy is our culture but is he going to practice it the right way.Which is the right way? Can we in today’s highly demanding life practice polygamy the same way my grandfather practice it? As a child I observe my grandfather’s wives all gathered around this one man with no hustle and complain. And seriously these women’s attention was indeed centered on this man. The issue of this guys offshore account did not matter that much to these ladies. Nowadays it is the main thing “she” wants to find out before she says I do. I wonder whether we can afford polygamy in a time of economic recessions and HIV/AIDS.

And yes Aids\Hiv will spread rampant if people choose to be a polygamist culture, And is it not a belief in South Africa that if one contracts the sickness one should have sexual intercourse with a minor to be cured? I truly think it is a idiotic notion and if a culture cannot be responsible enough or does have an unstable Identity and weak morals this should not even be considered. One thing I can’t fathom is why is a rapist and corrupt man even elected as president? And how could a man even consider having more wife’s why would he do that if one is already very demanding.
