This forum is pretty much dead because of an over-zealous admin that in the past restricted it so much that you can not open up new categories - not even if you plea on bended knees - while at the same time spammers essentially got a "free for all" area here to work on. The Namibian could pride itself years ago to have pretty much the most active forum that ever existed in Namibia - with thousands of readers, hundreds of participants, again thousands of threads and hundreds of forum topics. All that was essentially "weeded out" in the attempt to get a "prettier face" of the entire website. Whether at least that has succeeded is of course also open for debate, but the obvious choice (opening up a forum topic for each news article, and as such combining the old-school idea of "news distribution" with some new-generation discussion platform) was not made - and an integration with other web 2.0 services (facebook, twitter, provision of RSS-feeds etc.) was also overslept. So what you see here is essentially the "leftovers" of times gone by - and since my honest attempts to provide some help in implementing both forum suggestions by users as well as my own ideas kinda fell on deaf ears, what you see here is pretty much what the current admin was able to salvage from the puny reminants of the once really great discussion forums of The Namibian. The only way to dwell in those old musings is probably to visit http://www.archive.org and browse in long gone forums - yet of course without the option to ever post something there... |

My reccommendation to anyone straining with websites that use too small typefaces: install Firefox (http://www.getfirefox.com) and use the Ctrl + "+" key combination to increase font size (Ctrl + "-" reduces the font size accordingly). Just a "works for me" kind of solution though - and obviously only works on operating systems where you can install Firefox... Kind regards Gerard |

Kind regards Gerard Looking for a solution for a whole time and started to see this recommendation. Thanks and now it works for me. ___________________________ Proud Owner Of A disc duplicator |
