The so-called "admin" of this site is obviously a no-show - or simply not doing his job correctly. I reported the previos spammer called "zenithcrusher", he seemingly blocked his account and then forgot to block the IP-Sections that would identify anyone from China (my personal number 1 country of spamming since the US adopted anti-spam laws a couple of years back) and as such the same fucking spam-moron just signed up with yet another fake account (again thanks to the inabilities of the admin here - this forum software is outdated and contains more security holes than a swiss cheese, but I somehow gave up on that guy, he's obviously not in control of things or simply lacks the time to do his job) and started spamming again.

perhaps someone tell those fucking slit-eyed asshole, that nobody wants to buy that crap in Namibia anyway

But apart from letting off steam here, one can probably only abandon this forum completely. The Namibian had one in the past that worked very nicely, but this one obviously is not worth talking about: shiny on the outside (nice design), but total crap on the inside (no meaningfull administration to be found anywhere).

What a pitty. The news section also got reduced dramatically compared to the previous version of this website - aparently we have an admin here that thinks looks are more important than content. Pretty dumb attitude, I'd say...

MR. G

Well said once again, I too reported this Spammer. And I seldom come to this forum as a result of this. But with Forums in general do not have a long live span. It is nice and informative for a short while until Formies lose interest and or just never come back.
I still think that the Namibian Forum is a good tool to use to get the word out and or get insight but it seems that there are only four people active on this forum. That or everyone else is in contempt with their situations. most just read a blog and then move on. I thought this forum would be the buzz during and after the elections but this Spammer has deterd almost every one. icon_frown.gif

Hi, I live in Edinburgh, Scotland and, after reading a Wikipedia article about Namibia decided to search for more sites with news/info on your country which led me here.

It doesn't seem a very busy forum. icon_frown.gif

Yes, indeed - although I am pretty sure that this decision may raise more eyebrows among some forum members here that regard my stance on certain issues as... uhm... "controversial".

Then again, I was so deeply disappointed what mess this forum has become in the recent months when compared to the many years before, that I can't help but exclaim: yeah, let's do some more than overdue "spring cleaning" here.

Not that I could do that on a "professional" level, as I obviously have a job that requires my fullest attention already, but I'll be more than glad to help out as and where I can.

Primary issue to start with: we only have *one* forum topic here ("news") which doesn't exactly help focussing on issues that interest you. First suggestion would thus be to find topics that can become new forum toppics.

Before we start this, I would however strongly reccommend that you update the totally outdated version 0.1.7 of mm_forum (the Typo3 extension that runs this forum) with the current version 1.9.0.

You can get it here. If you check the issues that have been fixed in intermediate versions plus with the most recent release, you will probably quickly agree that this may save you a considerable amount of time when dealing with those spammers here.

sounds good.. i am also very busy with daily tasks and hardly came here, its only because of someone hinting forums, i even asked myself the namibian has that.. and i came to find this mess.. but anyway water under the bridge..

i will try and run an update, its quite hard to continue where someone else has stopped, banghead.gif but i will get there.

also i will see what other topics we can add.. you have any suggestions?
