The term "colored" to someone from the US is a dated term from the 1950's used for a non-white (mostly African Americans). It is generally not considered "politically correct" for use at present.

If you were reading the context of the original debate. You would understand that the Term "colored" is politicaly correct. Obama is nor african nor amarican, but by national rights he is a US citizen genis "presedente bush excedus" comonly know as the big kahoena.

Where I come from the term Colored is politicaly correct and will stay politically correct until a layman term is found for all Bi-Racial groups.

I understand. I didn't point out that I had just recently come to learn the definition of "colored" as applied in Namibia and Zambia. I was merely pointing out that the adjective had a different meaning in the USA. I was not implying any fault with its use, merely the difference in perception attached to the word here.

Thanks
Jim

I find it ridiculous that terms like "colored" are still present. In a day and age that has come so far from slavery and racism, every should just refer to people of different ethnic backgrounds as simply "people." Hating people because of their color is wrong. And it doesn't matter which color does the hating. It's just plain wrong.

I think Obama has done a good job in so far, and that for Romney to win the next election it really scares me, he is raising money like a mad man.

Whether a person uses the term colored or not shouldn't really be an issue. What's more important are Obama's policies, and his socialist plans for the future. I think the debate about race is being used to sidetrack from the real issues like socialist health care, the financial collapse, the war on terror, turning nations into police states, conquest for global domination, etc. Why not focus on what's important rather than petty issues like the use of the word "colored"?
