Andre, hilarious hypnotist is back

ANDRE the World's Most Hilarious Hypnotist will be back at the National Theatre of Namibia from June 8-19.

The performances will run from Tuesday, June 8 to Saturday, June 19 (except Sunday, June 13) and will start promptly at 20h00. Matinees have been scheduled for Saturday June 12 and Saturday, June 19 at 16h00.

During the past seven years, Andre recipe for success, hypnosis with comedy has ensured full houses wherever he went. When he was at the NTN four years ago, smokers were roaring like dragons when exhaling smoke, men were giving birth to babies and aliens were chatting about women!!

Now Andre has a brand new show with even more gimmicks and sound effects which will have you clutching your stomach with laughter. The people under hypnosis acting on stage could be your husband, sister, niece, lawyer, friend teacher or even you. If you fancy a night of good, old fashioned family fun this is the place to be. Because of the nature of the volunteers and the show, each performance is hilariously different.

Andre makes a strong distinction between his work and that of the medically qualified hypnotherapists. "If someone comes to me for treatment or for a physical problem, I refer them to the relevant people. I don't do medical hypnosis. There is a lot of confusion surrounding the medium of hypnosis. It is not dangerous and a person cannot get 'stuck' in a trance. All hypnosis is self-induced. I am merely the operator. Basically, hypnosis is a normal physiological ulterior state of consciousness similar to, but not the same as being asleep, and similar to, but not the same as being awake. It is a voluntary state produced by a central focus on attention. The state produces increased concentration of the mind, increased relaxation of the body and increased sensitivity to suggestion. This is how hypnotists have volunteers go on imaginary roller coaster rides, milk cows or even come up with the craziest ideas for inventions."

Patron are kindly requested to arrive at least half an hour before the show starts as no latecomers will be admitted as this disturbs the hypnosis process. Tickets at N$30 will be available from the NTN box office between 09h00-13h00 and 14h00-16h00 from Mondays to Fridays.
