Thursday, September 4, 2008 - Web posted at 9:19:40 AM GMT Big Brother Africa 3: Housemates get racy, Olympics vibe up house NATASHA UYSWHO would have thought that the Olympics and Big Brother Africa could go well together? This week's Olympic task has the housemates doing all kinds of fun things like taking part in the weirdest games and challenges. |
|
Proving once and for all that nothing creates as much drama as pure, physical competition. The first bit of drama came about when Biggie warned that the housemates had to be in peak physical condition, eating well, training and not smoking. This caused quite a ruckus in the house between the smokers and the non-smokers. Ricco, Munya, Sheila and Tawana felt that after being forced to smoke tea leaves for a few days, they certainly deserved the ciggies bought with the profits of their 100 per cent wager win the previous week. The non-smokers, on the other hand, felt that because they had once again waged 100 per cent on the Olympic task, they needed to chill out on the smoking. As you can imagine, this difference of opinion ended up with everyone shouting over each other, trying to put their view across. Head of House Tawana went back into the diary room to get clarification from Biggie, cryptic as ever - Biggie advised the housemates to think and behave like grown-up professionals. Ouch! The first of a series of challenges was the tricycle relay race. The housemates were given children's tricycles and told to race on them. Needless to say, they looked like a bunch of overgrown kids at the fair, some trying to pedal while others just pushed themselves along. Second was a bizarre challenge called 'Low Jump'. The housemates had to - get this - jump over objects that were under tables. Yep, you read right - over objects, underneath tables and to make matters worse, it all has to be done without parting their legs. Surprisingly, Ricco won this challenge - as the website put it so perfectly, "when you wear short skirts as often as he does, you're bound to get skilled at keeping your legs together..." The challenge continued yesterday with the 'Reverse Marathon'. This task required the housemates to build a running track throughout the entire house. They moved furniture around and used tools provided by Biggie to make this track on which they were to race against each other. The marathon consisted of 35 laps, 25 of which were supposed to be run normally - as in facing forward, while the last 10 were to be run in reverse! Yep, that's right - backwards. To add to all the confusion, housemates also had to count the number of laps they had run using objects in the house. This, combined with their garish outfits, made this an athletic event to remember. Tune in tonight at 19h00 on DStv Channel 102 or 198 to see the housemates' final task performance and to hear Biggie's judgement. Will the housemates be living on dry bread next week or will the feast continue? * Check out all the action on DStv's Channel 198, the daily shows on Channel 102 at 20h00 and e-mail your thoughts, views and opinions to bba@namibian.com.na |
