LUQMAN CLOETE

KEETMANSHOOP businessman Jacobus Hendrik Oosthuizen (71), who owns the OK Grocer Supermarket, on Wednesday appeared in the town's Magistrate's Court on a charge of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

Charged with the same offence, Oosthuizen's son-in-law Johan Schoeman (34) and a worker at the supermarket, Willy Baumgarten (48), joined Oosthuizen in the dock following their arrest on the same day.

The three were not asked to plead and were released on bail of N$500 each.

Their case was postponed until December 5 for further Police investigation.

The Police reported that the three men allegedly assaulted Erick Bok on September 14 after they caught him stealing N$30 000 from an office in the supermarket.

Police recovered the N$30 000.

Following his arrest Bok, who is now the complainant in the assault case, appeared in the Keetmanshoop Magistrate's Court on a charge of theft.

He too is free on bail.
