The match did not take place after Black Africa officials complained that referee Matthew Katjimune, who was assigned to handle the match was under the influence of alcohol and could thus not allow their player to engage Stars.

On Friday, the NPL in a statement said the Board of Governors (BoG) of the NPL took a resolution that the match be finalised before June 1.

This means that the match will be played, but only a date and venue is still to be decided.

The decision has been take despite an earlier appeal by Stars that they would not entertain any match to be played as they were ready to play on the day.

Yesterday, Moses Ikanga told The Namibian Sport that Stars can appeal the decision, but he thinks that was the logical way of bringing the long-dragging matter to an end.

"The match has been re-scheduled and will have to be played.

In case Stars appeal, their matter will be looked into accordingly," he said.

The BoG is the highest decision making organ of the NPL and all 12 teams are represented on it by the their respective chairmen.

The Namibian Sport could not obtain comment from African Stars chairman, Mbakumua Hengari yesterday, as he was reported to be out of town.
