Civics and UDF take over Henties Bay Council

ADAM HARTMAN

CIVICS member Gisela Cramer on Tuesday ousted Paulus Imbambah (Swapo) as Mayor of Henties Bay.

Cramer formerly served as a nominated member of the DTA between 1998 and 2004, during which she was also Deputy Mayor.

On Tuesday during an extraordinary council meeting, she was voted to head the small town's council.

UDF member Anna Hamutenya was elected as the Deputy Mayor.

She takes over from a Swapo member, Christa Kahambundu.

The management committee also saw some changes, although Cramer told The Namibian that another vote would be held soon, as one of the elected members, Swapo's Daniel Ndume, did not want to be part of the committee.

The other two members of the management committee are the UDF's Lena Hoëses, and Civics' Albert Hoffmann.
