Three rapes reported across the country

STAFF REPORTER

A 13-year-old girl was raped at Dordabis on Saturday night, the Police reported yesterday.

The suspect, an adult man, is still at large.

The sexual assault on the teenager was among three rape cases reported by the Police.

An 18-year-old schoolgirl was raped on her way home from a school sports activity at Ohadiwa village in the North on Sunday night.

Police report that the girl was walking home when she was attacked by an unknown man who forced her into a room.

Police are looking for the suspect.

A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged with raping a 19-year-old girl at Tsaraxa-Aibes at Otjiwarongo on Saturday.

* A 27-year-old man was stabbed to death with a traditional knife at a cuca shop at Okongo on Thursday night.

According to the Police, the suspect in the case entered the cuca shop at Oshitayi, licked his knife and asked if anybody had ever seen someone stabbed with it before.

He then apparently grabbed the deceased and stabbed him under his right arm.

The man died on the spot.

The 32-year-old suspect was arrested, and was set to make his first court appearance on the matter in Eenhana yesterday.

* Windhoek resident Crisjan Diergaardt (25) was robbed of items worth about N$1 600 on Sunday night in an area between Khomasdal and Otjomuise.

Police report that five suspects held him at gunpoint before taking a ring, a cellphone and a pair of shoes from him.

* A 35-year-old man, Esau Hoaeb, died at the farm Namatanga in the Outjo district on Friday night after he fell from a donkey cart.

* A 29-year-old Angolan man was arrested near the border between Namibia and Angola on Friday and charged with stock theft.

Police recovered from him four head of cattle that went missing from their grazing area at Okamboora village near Ruacana that day.
