The Oshana Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner Ndahangwapo Kashihakumwa, confirmed Nepembe's death yesterday afternoon.

Nepembe, a businesswoman, was also a councillor of the Ongwediva Town Council and a member of the Ongwediva Roman Catholic Parish Council.

She also served in many local women's associations in the North.

Nepembe, the sister of Deputy Minister of Safety and Security Gabes Shihepo, is survived by her husband Frans Nepembe, seven children and grandchildren.
