REPRESENTATIVES of various community-based organisations (CBOs) and support organisations in seven southern African countries will gather in Windhoek from today for a four-day conference.

Countries represented at the conference are Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique and South Africa, says Maxi Louis, the co-ordinator for the Namibian Association of Community-Based Natural Resource Management Organisations (Nacso).

The purpose of the conference is to share experiences and lessons learned in institutional development of CBOs in natural resource management.

The conference is organised by Nacso and will be officially opened by Environment and Tourism Minister Willem Konjore this morning.

It ends on Friday.
