Government honours Pandeni as a hero

STAFF REPORTER

THE Government of the Republic of Namibia has conferred the status of hero on the late John Alphons Pandeni, Minister of Local Government, who died in a car accident on Friday.

The Media Affairs Department in the Ministry of Information announced yesterday afternoon that Pandeni will be honoured with a hero's funeral on Saturday, March 29.

An announcement on further arrangements will be made in due course.

Meanwhile, a memorial service for the late Kala Gertze, Member of Parliament for the Congress of Democrats, will be held at 12h30 today in the Parliament Gardens.
