Zim Soccer Analogy

A SWAPO MP (I think it was Ms Muharukua) came up with a very interesting analogy of the Zimbabwean situation.

She compared the two presidential candidates with two soccer teams that were supposed to play and one failed to turn up.

The team that turned up is awarded the three points by default.

Another Swapo MP tried to improve on that analogy by comparing the Zimbabwean situation with a scenario where the team that was leading in the first half ended up losing in the second.

Both analogies are interesting, the only problem being that crucial facts were not accounted for.

The only analogy that would make sense is the following: The situation in Zimbabwe is like a derby between RM Football Club and MT Football Club.

The MT FC was leading in the first half, but during the 15-minute break something dramatic happened: the team captain was arrested, the goalkeeper and two strikers were brutally murdered, four midfielders arrested and four defenders forced into hiding.

The coach was left with no other option but to withdraw his team from the match.

The RM Football Club team triumphantly entered the field and started knocking the ball around and finally the biased referee declared them the winners, disregarding the protests of his linesmen.
